And Now for Something Completely Different!
On April 12, I will be leading the inaugaral “Business of Art” workshops, with my “Creating an Online Presence: Exploring Virtual Portfolios and Artist-Friendly Websites” lecture for the combined forces of Dallas’ Creative Arts Center, the McKinney Avenue Contemporary, and DADA (the Dallas Art Dealers Association). Wow! That’s a lot of entities and titles, isn’t it?
Since this is my first foray into sharing my knowledge with an audience of adult artists, I am both looking forward to the event as well as hyperventilating as I consider how it will roll out. I mean, I’ve done many business presentations before, but with just under 200 slides and an estimated 2.5 hours of discussion, I hope I can hold their attention, provide the insights they were anticipating, and not collapse!
A few evenings ago, I invited several fellow artists to my studio to test-drive the lecture. Because I received a ton of great feedback and positive reinforcement, I can (after making the modifications they suggested) say “Onward!”
